Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, paid tribute to the organisations that partnered with and sponsored this year’s ADSW, which is held annually in January.

Shams Power Company Achieves New Milestone

LTI is defined as an occurrence that results in a fatality, permanent disability or time lost from work during a certain period of time. Green Run hosted at Masdar City
Masdar City, Abu Dhabi’s sustainable urban community, will host hundreds of runners at its annual Green Run on Friday, February 22. Organised in collaboration with the Environment Friends Society, the Green Run is free to enter and has four categories: People of Determination (500 metres); Children (1km); Women (2km); and Men (3km).

New Zealand Partners with UAE to Boost Solar Power in the Solomon Islands
The United Arab Emirates and New Zealand has signed an arrangement for the development of a jointly funded 1 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in the Solomon Islands. Both countries share a common interest in the rapid deployment of renewable energy in developing countries, particularly in the Pacific region, and signed a renewable energy partnership arrangement in January 2014.

Today was the first day of The Festival at Masdar City, and there's the promise of more fun, food and entertainment tomorrow! The event which concludes Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is dedicated to raising community awareness of sustainability, brings in crowds with food trucks, live entertainment, and educational games and activities. Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Masdar Collaborate to Make UAE Diplomatic Buildings More Efficient
Abu Dhabi, UAE: December 23, 2013 – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, have signed two contracts whereupon Masdar will audit the energy, waste and water efficiency of the UAE Ministry Foreign Affairs headquarters, and provide an assessment on the sustainability elements of the new UAE embassy design in Doha, Qatar.

Masdar City Welcomes Heritage Walk Women for Final Night of Their Trek from Al Ain to Abu Dhabi
A group of 30 women participating in the Heritage Walk from Al Ain to Abu Dhabi camped in Masdar City last night. Held under the patronage of Sheikha Shaikha bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, the 140 kilometre trek pays tribute to UAE history, when Emirati families regularly made the trip from Al Ain to Abu Dhabi. The Heritage Walk culminates today in Al Bateen after the sixth and final night in Masdar City, one of the world’s most sustainable urban developments.

Pertamina Geothermal Energy

Green Barbuda project
Masdar has implemented a hurricane-resistant clean energy plant in Antigua and Barbuda that contributes to Antigua and Barbuda's goal of producing 15 percent of its electricity needs from renewable sources by 2030. The project includes an 800kW diesel power plant and a 720kWh hybrid solar power plant, as well as an 863kWh battery system to store excess electricity generated.
