Masdar Achieves Financial Close of London Array Project
Masdar Energy UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, today announced the completion of a 12 year limited-recourse project financing of up to £266 million for its stake in phase one of London Array. The landmark financing is the first time that a limited-recourse structure has been completed for an unincorporated joint venture within the renewable energy industry.

Siemens strengthens Middle East presence with new headquarters at Masdar City
Siemens, the global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering operating in the energy, infrastructure, industry and healthcare sectors, today inaugurated its new Middle East headquarters at Masdar City – Abu Dhabi’s low-carbon, sustainable city – where Siemens is an anchor tenant. The Siemens building has been designed with sustainable materials and energy efficient technologies, making it the first LEED Platinum certified office in the United Arab Emirates’ capital city. The building has become a benchmark for future projects in the Middle East and beyond, due to the sustainability standards and development methodology used in building it.

The Masdar City podium will be filled with festive decorations as visitors enjoy dragon-puppet-making, lantern-making and more. Masdar City visitors are also invited to decorate a new-year-themed Wishing Tree. According to Chinese tradition, all their wishes will be granted!

Masdar and Daewoo E&C partner to develop low energy sustainable desalination technologies
Masdar has signed a strategic agreement with global infrastructure and energy development company Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. to support the commercialization of low-energy reverse osmosis seawater desalination plants in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.

US Congressional Delegation Visits
A delegation of eight representatives from the United States Congress visited Masdar City on Sunday as part of a trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in an educational and cultural exchange. In addition to official government meetings, the delegation, led by U.S. Congresswoman and Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Marcia L. Fudge, met with senior executives and researchers at Masdar.

WEC and Masdar Sign Patronship Agreement to Address Global Sustainable Energy Access
The World Energy Council (WEC) and Masdar have signed a Patronship Agreement, announced on the sidelines of COP21 in Paris. The WEC is a global multi-energy non-profit organisation that promotes the sustainable supply and use of energy and has an exclusive Patronship programme with 50 of the world’s leading energy companies. Patronship companies are members of the Council who commit to engage with WEC on global issues and projects. The agreement was signed by Masdar CEO, Dr Ahmad Belhoul and Marie-Jose Nadeau, Chair of the WEC.

Pertamina Geothermal Energy

Project Chereh
In December 2025, Masdar signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia’s national utility, to develop the region’s largest floating solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant at the Chereh Dam in Pahang State, marking Masdar’s inaugural project in Malaysia.
