Masdar observed the achievements of all its female employees on International Women’s Day, held on March 8, which recognises the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world.

The company is proud to help the UAE advance gender equality as part of its commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals through the empowerment of women in the industry, exemplified by the Masdar-led Women in Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy (WiSER) initiative, which empowers women around the world in sustainability sectors.

Earlier this year, Masdar also announced the launch of the WiSER Pioneers Programme providing women under 30 access to educational workshops, global networking events and professional internships.

To mark International Women’s Day, CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi announced that Masdar has joined more than 2,000 companies around the world to endorse the Women’s Empowerment Principles, an initiative of UN Global Compact and UN Women to advance equality between men and women in business and the wider community.

Masdar is privileged to have a diverse workforce, of which 35 per cent are female, who contribute to the continued success and achievements of the organisation, while approximately 40 per cent of all participants in the company’s Human Capital development programmes in 2018 were female.
