Masdar City marks Chinese New Year

Masdar City is ringing in the Chinese New Year with traditional activities and family entertainment from 12:00-20:00 on February 18-20.

The Masdar City podium will be filled with festive decorations as visitors enjoy dragon-puppet-making, lantern-making and more. Masdar City visitors are also invited to decorate a new-year-themed Wishing Tree. According to Chinese tradition, all their wishes will be granted!

“Celebrating the Chinese New Year through traditional activities at Masdar City brings us closer to the community and raises awareness of how we are building the world’s most sustainable city,” said Abdulla Balalaa.

Abdulla Balalaa added that by celebrating Chinese New Year, Masdar City was also honouring the Year of Zayed while promoting tolerance and mutual understanding, key goals of the UAE’s founding father.

Entrance is free for Chinese New Year at Masdar City.
