Masdar-led joint venture agrees financing for largest wind farm in Serbia

Financing for one of the largest wind power projects in mainland Europe has been agreed by the project’s shareholders and lenders at a ceremony in the Serbian capital of Belgrade. Due for completion in the first half of 2019, the 158 megawatt (MW) capacity Čibuk 1 wind farm will be the largest utility-scale commercial wind project in Serbia and the Western Balkans.

LTI is defined as an occurrence that results in a fatality, permanent disability or time lost from work during a certain period of time. Solar Impulse Completes Historic Transatlantic Crossing

Solar Impulse 2 touched down in Europe early this morning after completing its historic journey across the Atlantic Ocean. The plane landed in Seville, Spain, just 60 kilometres west of the Gemasolar Thermosolar Plant, a solar thermal plant backed by Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company and host partner of Solar Impulse.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Masdar Collaborate to Make UAE Diplomatic Buildings More Efficient

World’s largest offshore wind farm produces first power

The 630MW scheme, located in the Thames Estuary, will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm. The development has been under construction since March 2011 and 151 of the 175 turbines have now been installed, with construction on schedule to be finished by the end of the year.

Project Chereh

In December 2025, Masdar signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia’s national utility, to develop the region’s largest floating solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant at the Chereh Dam in Pahang State, marking Masdar’s inaugural project in Malaysia.

Masdar has entered into a Public Private Partnership Agreement to design, build and operate a 300MW solar photovoltaic power plant and 75MWh capacity battery energy storage system in the Kashkadarya Region in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Hywind Scotland

Hywind is the world’s first floating offshore windfarm, located off the coast of Aberdeenshire in Scotland. Masdar has a 25 per cent stake in the 30MW project, along with lead operator Equinor, which owns 75 per cent.
