Masdar’s CEO Receives Mauritania’s Order of National Merit Medal

Yesterday, His Excellency Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf, prime minister of Mauritania, presented His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, CEO of Masdar, with Mauritania’s Order of National Merit Medal. This is one of the most prestigious honours given by the President of Mauritania. The medal was presented in appreciation for Masdar’s commitment to accelerating the global adoption of renewable energy and sustainable development.  

“On behalf of the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, it’s with great pleasure to grant the Order of National Merit Medal to His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber for his commitment to shaping energy policy and economics,” said Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf, prime minister of Mauritania. “His dedication continues to drive the global dialogue. From energy security and access to sustainable development, Dr. Al Jaber is bringing to the forefront today’s most pressing issues. This medal also reflects the deep ties our countries have long shared, and it has always been an honour to be a strong partner to the United Arab Emirates.” 

H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, CEO of Masdar said: “This honour, along with Masdar’s commitment to advancing a new energy industry would not be possible without the vision of our wise leadership. Masdar is just one example of the UAE’s commitment to diversifying the economy and ensuring its sustainable growth. Our country is looking to the future and working to ensure we maintain our economic and social prosperity. To complement that effort, Masdar is extending the UAE’s role as an international energy leader, while at the same time, addressing energy access and security in developing countries.”
