Masdar and ONEE Partner to Deliver Electricity to 940 Remote Villages in the Kingdom of Morocco
Masdar and Morocco’s Office National de l'Electricité et de l'Eau Potable (ONEE) have signed a partnership to design, supply and install 17,670 Solar Home Systems across 940 villages in the Kingdom of Morocco. When complete, the solar homes, along with broader electrification initiatives, will result in 99 percent of rural Morocco having access to energy by the end of 2017 – a critical resource that underpins economic development.

Masdar Signs Cooperative Framework with Energias de Portugal
Masdar today signed a framework agreement with Energias De Portugal (EDP), Portugal’s largest utility company, to explore opportunities to deploy large-scale renewable energy projects and promote renewables as source of foreign aid. The agreement was signed by Jorge Cruz Morais, director-general of EDP Internacional and H.E Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, CEO of Masdar, during the seventh World Future Energy Summit, a global platform that addresses the future of renewable energy and sustainable development in the Middle East and the world.

Two-Day Sustainability Festival at Masdar City Opens Tomorrow
Masdar City’s two-day sustainability festival will get underway tomorrow, marking the end of the second edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW). ADNOC and Masdar Launch Joint Venture to Develop Commercial-Scale Carbon Capture, Usage and Storage Projects
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Masdar today signed a joint venture agreement – the Middle East’s first company focused on exploring and developing commercial-scale projects for carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS). ADNOC and Masdar jointly awarded a AED 450 million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to Dodsal Group to build a carbon dioxide (CO2) compression facility and a 50 km pipeline. The joint venture is 51 percent owned by ADNOC and 49 percent by Masdar.

Masdar Signs MOU with JBIC to Accelerate Renewable Energy Technologies
Masdar today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) that will see the two parties work together in identifying, financing and executing renewable energy projects around the world. The agreement was signed by H.E Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and CEO of Masdar, and JBIC Governor, CEO, Hiroshi Watanabe. UAE rolls out renewable energy training programme for Pacific Island countries
