Guzar

Cirata Floating Photovoltaic FPV Plant
In January 2020, Masdar signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with PT PLN Nusantara Renewables, a subsidiary of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN), the state-owned electricity company in Indonesia. The agreement was to build Southeast Asia’s largest floating solar power plant.

Welkin Road Stockport
The Welkin Road battery energy storage system (BESS) plant is situated in Stockport on a previously industrialized site, conforming to Masdar Arlington Energy’s strategy to house projects on land in need of redevelopment and regeneration. The 20MW/40Mwh plant will power 10,000 homes per day based upon two cycles per day. It is expected to become operational in Q2 2025.

The Royle Barn Road battery energy storage system (BESS) plant is situated in Rochdale on a previously industrialized site, conforming to Masdar Arlington Energy’s strategy to house projects on land in need of redevelopment and regeneration. The 35MW/70Mwh plant will power 15,900 homes per day based upon two cycles per day. It is expected to become operational in Q2 2027.

Sherabad Solar Project
In August 2021, Masdar signed an agreement with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan to design, finance, build and operate a 457-megawatt (MW) utility-scale solar PV project in the Surkhandarya Region of Uzbekistan. This project reached full capacity in 2024, with commercial operation expected to commence in 2026.

Siwa Solar PV Plant
Masdar’s 10 megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Siwa was the largest solar power installation in Egypt at the time of its completion in March 2015. The project is the first utility-scale solar power installation in the Arab Republic of Egypt and accounts for 30% of the grid capacity of Siwa City and its adjoining areas.
