Overview

The Royle Barn Road battery energy storage system (BESS) plant is situated in Rochdale on a previously industrialized site, conforming to Masdar’s strategy to house projects on land in need of redevelopment and regeneration. The 35MW/70MWh plant can provide power for 35000 homes per day based upon two cycles per day. It is expected to become operational in Q3 2026.
