World’s first commercial-scale floating offshore wind farm on its way to Scotland
The first of five turbines for the Hywind Scotland commercial-scale floating offshore wind farm has now sailed away (date 17/07/2017) from Stord in Norway to its final destination, Buchan Deep, 25 km east of Peterhead in Scotland. Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, announced that it had acquired a 25% stake in the Hywind Scotland project during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in January.

Zayed Future Energy Prize Invites Entries to 10th Year
The 10th cycle of the Zayed Future Energy Prize is open for entries, it was announced earlier today. Submissions from eligible entrants are invited in the Small and Medium Enterprise, Non-Profit Organisation and Global High Schools categories, while the Large Corporation and Lifetime Achievement categories are open to nominations from the public. US$50m UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund in Talks with 6 Caribbean Countries

Masdar Unveils 2015 Sustainability Report
Masdar has released its 2015 Sustainability Report, documenting the renewable energy company’s sustainability milestones in the period October 2014 to September 2015. Masdar developed the report using the internationally recognised sustainability reporting framework from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), in accordance with the latest GRI G4 guidelines.
