1 December 2015, Abu Dhabi – In celebration of the 44th UAE National Day, Masdar hosted a range of lively activities for employees, Masdar Institute students and visitors alike at Masdar City – a greenprint for one of the world’s most sustainable low-carbon cities.

“Our country is the embodiment of our founder – His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s dream, and on this day in particular we celebrate the dedication and continuing hard work of our founder and our current leadership. We have achieved much in the past 44 years. We have much to rejoice and be thankful for,” said Dr Ahmad Belhoul, CEO of Masdar.

A highlight of the outdoor festivities at Masdar City was a special appearance by the Abu Dhabi Police Band whose performance included a rendition of the UAE National Anthem. Other activities that added energy to the festive atmosphere included a traditional dukan supermarket, along with displays of cultural wares and heritage living, live cooking viewing, henna art painting, pottery making and weaving demonstrations.
