Masdar signs JDA for the development of up to 400MW of solar projects in Armenia
Masdar, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, has signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with the Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF) for the development of solar power projects with a total capacity of 400 MW in Armenia. The investment adds between US$300 million and US$320 million into the Armenian economy.

LAGI international design competition winners announced
The Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI) and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) have announced the winners of this year’s LAGI international design competition at the 24th World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi. Sponsored by Masdar, LAGI 2019 Abu Dhabi challenged design teams to create large-scale works of public art that also produce clean kilowatt-hours for the Masdar City grid using technologies such as solar and wind.

Masdar announces opening of Mubadala Health COVID-19 vaccination center in Masdar City
Masdar, a global leader in sustainable innovation and development, and a subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, has announced the opening of a COVID-19 vaccination center in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. The new center is part of the Mubadala Health network of COVID-19 vaccination centers and supports the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, in implementing the UAE’s vigorous vaccination program.

As we prepare for the Masdar-hosted Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, we look back on a year of impressive growth for Masdar and both its Clean Energy and Sustainable Real Estate portfolios. In 2019, Masdar secured its first major renewable energy project in Saudi Arabia, the Dumat Al Jandal wind farm, Saudi Arabia’s first and the Middle East’s largest wind project.
