Zayed Future Energy Prize Opens Submissions for 2013 Edition
The Prize will invite entries from companies, individuals, organizations and high schools prior to the deadline to submit – July 16, 2012, for a chance to win part of the US$4 million prize fund. The scope of the Prize has also been broadened to include five distinct categories: Large Corporations, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Lifetime Achievement, and the newly instituted Global High School Prize.

Masdar more than doubles clean energy capacity over 2 years generating enough electricity to power over 4 million homes
Masdar has released its 2020 Annual Sustainability Report that revealed it more than doubled its clean energy capacity over two years to generate enough electricity to power over four million homes. The capacity of the renewable energy projects that Masdar is a partner in has risen to over 10.7 GW in 2020 from 4 GW in 2019, with the company’s global operating clean energy portfolio displacing close to 6.5 million metric tons of CO2 annually.

Solar and wind account for 67% of New Power Capacity Added Worldwide in 2019: BNEF
Solar and wind power accounted for over two-thirds of the 265GW of new capacity installed worldwide in 2019, up from less than a quarter of new build in 2010, according to data from BloombergNEF. Photovoltaics (PV) topped all other technologies in new-build terms, with a record 118 gigawatts constructed, and was the most popular technology deployed in a third of nations, the research company said.
