First Large Scale Wind Farm Project in Seychelles Inaugurated

Envisioned by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and President James Alix Michel, the wind farm project is the first major renewable energy project in the Seychelles and will constitute 11% installed capacity of electricity on the main island, which will cut down on fossil fuel import and reduce greenhouse gas emission.

Masdar-led joint venture agrees financing for largest wind farm in Serbia

Financing for one of the largest wind power projects in mainland Europe has been agreed by the project’s shareholders and lenders at a ceremony in the Serbian capital of Belgrade. Due for completion in the first half of 2019, the 158 megawatt (MW) capacity Čibuk 1 wind farm will be the largest utility-scale commercial wind project in Serbia and the Western Balkans.

Project Chereh

In December 2025, Masdar signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia’s national utility, to develop the region’s largest floating solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant at the Chereh Dam in Pahang State, marking Masdar’s inaugural project in Malaysia.

Garadagh Area 60 Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant

The 230-megawatt (MWac) Garadagh (Area 60) Solar PV Plant is the country’s first foreign investment-based independent utility scale solar project structured as a public-private partnership.

London Array

London Array is one of the world’s largest offshore wind farm currently in operation, a joint venture between Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Schroders Greencoat, Masdar, RWE Renewables.

Cibuk 1

The Cibuk 1 wind farm is a utility-scale onshore wind farm located in Vojvodina province, Serbia. The project provides clean, reliable and economically viable electricity to around 113,000 Serbian homes.

Baynouna

Located east of Amman, Baynouna is the largest single solar energy project currently under development in Jordan

Solomon Islands Solar PV Plant

The one megawatt plant, which was expanded from 600kW following a grant from the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, bolster energy resilience and reduce costs associated with diesel imports

Nauru Solar

The Republic of Nauru is an island of just 21 square kilometres with more than 9,500 citizens that is highly dependent on imported fossil fuels for transport and power generation

Las Majadas Onshore Wind Farm

Located in Willacy County, Texas, this 273 MW project is part of the 1.6 GW clean energy portfolio Masdar acquired in partnership with EDF Renewables.

Coyote Onshore Wind Farm

The 243 MW Coyote wind project is part of Masdar’s second strategic EDF investment in Scurry County, Texas and features (48) 4.5 MW and (11) 2.4 MW Siemens Gamesa turbines.

Sterling Wind Farm

The 29.9MW Sterling project in Lea County, New Mexico was commissioned in 2017 and is comprised of 13 GE 2.3MW turbines.

Jambyl 1GW Wind Farm 600MWh BESS

Located in the Jambyl region, this 1GW wind farm with a 600-megawatt-hour (MWh) BESS is Masdar’s inaugural project in Kazakhstan and one of the largest in Central Asia.
