Overview
The 29.9MW Sterling project in Lea County, New Mexico was commissioned in 2017 and is comprised of 13 GE 2.3MW turbines.
Masdar acquired John Laing Group plc’s interest in the wind farm in the United States in 2019, marking the first time the company invested in renewable energy projects in North America.
In the process, Masdar entered into a partnership with French renewable power producer Akuo Energy to operate two wind farms.
