Sherabad Solar Project

In August 2021, Masdar signed an agreement with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan to design, finance, build and operate a 457-megawatt (MW) utility-scale solar PV project in the Surkhandarya Region of Uzbekistan. This project reached full capacity in 2024, with commercial operation expected to commence in 2026.

The 158.7MW Parc Eolien Taiba N’Diaye (PETN) provides power for over 2 million people.

Vanuatu Port Vila 767kW Solar PV

Port Vila, the capital city of the island state of Vanuatu, has a population of 44,000, of which only 27% have access to electricity

Suriname Solar-PV Hybrid

This 1.2MWp Solar Power Plant is located at Anton de Kom University of Suriname Campus, also including 576kWh BESS for energy shifting, peak shaving, output stabilisation and education purposes. The Solar+BESS will be used for Renewable Energy Education courses in the faculty of Engineering.

Siwa Solar PV Plant

Masdar’s 10 megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Siwa was the largest solar power installation in Egypt at the time of its completion in March 2015. The project is the first utility-scale solar power installation in the Arab Republic of Egypt and accounts for 30% of the grid capacity of Siwa City and its adjoining areas.

7000 Solar Home Systems

Masdar has helped bring electricity to nearly 7,000 homes and other community buildings in remote areas of Al Wadi Al Jadeed, Aswan, Luxor, Matruh, Qena and Sohag governorates of Egypt. 

Nauru Solar

The Republic of Nauru is an island of just 21 square kilometres with more than 9,500 citizens that is highly dependent on imported fossil fuels for transport and power generation

Toshka

The Toshka Solar Power Plant located in Egypt provides power for the large-scale operations of an agriculture company

Maverick 1 and Maverick 4 PV projects

The project comprises of two solar PV plants with a total capacity of 311 MW located in Riverside County, California. Together, the projects feature 780 thousand Bifacial Canadian Solar panels with SMA inverters on NexTracker single axis trackers upgraded with TrueCapture Software, guaranteed to increase project output.

Desert Harvest 1 and Desert Harvest 2 PV projects

The Desert Harvest 1 and Desert Harvest 2 PV projects, which total 217 MWdc of solar, started commercial operation in December 2020. The projects are located in Riverside County, California.

Big Beau

Big Beau is a 164 MWdc solar PV and 40 MW/160 MWh battery energy-storage system. Located in Kern County, California. The project features more than 443 thousand Bifacial Canadian Solar panels with power electronics inverters on ATI trackers.
