  • Zayed Future Energy Prize Convenes Experts on the Transformative Impact of Renewables Integration

    TheZayed Future Energy Prize, the UAE’s international awards for renewable energy and sustainability, brought together global energy leaders and influencers to address the urgency of transforming the global energy mix to safeguard energy security, enhance energy access in rural areas and mitigate climate change. The panel, including former heads of state, intergovernmental leaders and UAE dignitaries, was held following extensive deliberations to select the 2018 winners of the Zayed Future Energy Prize.   • Masdar, ADFD and PUC partner to build solar power plant with battery storage in Seychelles

    Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, will help the Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) in building a five-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant with battery storage in the Republic of Seychelles The project is being financed by a AED31 million loan from Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), the leading national entity for development aid, as well as funds from PUC’s own equity.

    The World Energy Council (WEC) and Masdar have signed a Patronship Agreement, announced on the sidelines of COP21 in Paris. The WEC is a global multi-energy non-profit organisation that promotes the sustainable supply and use of energy and has an exclusive Patronship programme with 50 of the world’s leading energy companies. Patronship companies are members of the Council who commit to engage with WEC on global issues and projects.
