KACARE Delegation visits Masdar City
Masdar officials hosted a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE) at Masdar City and provided a guided tour of the world’s most sustainable urban development. The KACARE delegation began its two-day visit to Masdar City on August 26 with a series of briefings at the headquarters of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

Al Waha Residence breaks ground at Masdar City
Another residential development has broken ground at Masdar City, Abu Dhabi’s flagship sustainable community, it was announced today. Due for completion by 2020, the 600-unit Al Waha Residences will comprise luxury studios and apartments in one-, two- and three-bedroom unique Sky-Home and Townhouse configurations designed to meet strict environmental standards.

Zayed Future Energy Prize expands global reach in record year for entries
The Zayed Future Energy Prize has closed submissions for its 10th cycle with a record of 2,296 entries – a 37 percent increase compared to 2016. Nominations for the Large Corporation and Lifetime Achievement categories yielded 1,113 entries, while the remaining 1,183 submissions were for Small & Medium Enterprise, Non-Profit Organisation, and Global High Schools categories.

Launch of Nordic Innovation Hub at Masdar Free Zone
Masdar City’s Free Zone has facilitated the establishment at Masdar City of the Nordic Innovation Hub, a business incubator designed to bring Nordic clean technologies and solutions to the UAE. Nordic Innovation Hub’s purpose is to create a business incubating platform for all Nordic companies considering business in the UAE, as well as those already operating within the country.

Masdar and Taaleri to launch a joint venture to accelerate wind and solar renewable energy development in Central and Eastern Europe
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 15 January, 2019 – Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, and Taaleri Energia, a Finnish wind and solar developer and fund manager, signed an agreement for the establishment of a joint venture with the aim of developing renewable energy projects in Central and Eastern Europe. The joint venture aims to build upon the success of Masdar and Taaleri’s ongoing activities in the Western Balkans by expanding their collaboration through the joint development of onshore wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.

Masdar Hits Halfway Milestone in Project Bringing Electricity to Rural Morocco
Abu Dhabi, UAE, 9 April 2016 – Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, has installed 50 percent of the solar home systems as part of an innovative project to electrify rural Morocco. The installation of 9,000 out of 17,670 systems across 940 villages comes only a year after the partnership agreement was signed between Masdar and Morocco’s Office National de l'Electricité et de l'Eau Potable (ONEE).

Solar Impulse Completes Historic Transatlantic Crossing
Solar Impulse 2 touched down in Europe early this morning after completing its historic journey across the Atlantic Ocean. Yesterday, His Excellency Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf, prime minister of Mauritania, presented His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, CEO of Masdar, with Mauritania’s Order of National Merit Medal.
