Masdar CEO ranked fourth on Utilities ME Power List
Utilities Middle East has ranked Masdar’s Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi fourth on its annual Power List of the most influential people in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) utilities industry.
The list highlights individuals who continue to lead and shape the utilities sector in the GCC region and its surroundings. Al Ramahi climbed a total of three positions from last year’s list following the growth of Masdar’s portfolio by 33 per cent in 2018.
At Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2019, Masdar made a number of landmark announcements including the company’s entry into North America’s renewable energy sector, buying stakes in the 149MW Rocksprings wind farm in Texas and the 30MW Sterling wind farm in New Mexico.
It also announced that it had been selected to develop the 400MW Dumat Al Jandal project – Saudi Arabia’s first and the region’s largest wind farm – as part of a consortium with EDF Renewables.
More recently, a consortium of EDF Renewables, Masdar and Green of Africa were named as the successful bidder for the Noor Midelt Phase 1 hybrid solar power plant in Morocco.
