Etihad Rail and Emerge Sign Landmark Solar Power Deal at Global Rail 2024
Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the UAE National Rail Network, signed a landmark agreement with Emerge, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC - Masdar and EDF Group to solarize the railway network’s freight terminal in Ghuweifat. The total installed capacity is comprised of a 600 kWp ground-mounted solar PV system in addition to a 2.56 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), and upon completion is expected to generate up to 85% of the terminal's electricity consumption.

AQUOVUM, Khalifa University and Masdar launch world’s first solar/thermal energy storage-powered project to extract water from air at Masdar City
The world’s first project to produce commercial volumes of an uninterrupted water supply from a sustainable source, making it carbon free, will launch this month in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. Miral and Emerge to Develop Solar Project on Yas Bay Waterfront
Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, has signed an agreement with Emerge, a joint venture between the UAE’s Masdar and France’s EDF, to develop a 524-kilowatt peak (kWp) solar photovoltaic (PV) project on Yas Bay Waterfront, Abu Dhabi’s vibrant day-to-night dining, entertainment and leisure destination located on Yas Island. The project is designed to offset 450 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

Sharjah Waste to Energy plant achieves major milestones towards zero-waste, net-zero emissions in first year of operations
The Sharjah Waste to Energy plant, a first of its kind project in the Middle East, has achieved multiple landmark milestones since its inauguration a year ago. Tied to the Sharjah electrical grid, the plant has generated enough energy to power over 2,000 homes per year while offsetting 150,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
