UAE’s first waste-to-energy project receives landmark award for first-of-its-kind financing loan
Bee’ah, the Middle East’s sustainability pioneer, and Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, were recognized as the winners of the Structured Loan Deal of the Year Award at the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Awards for their financing of the UAE’s first waste-to-energy project. ADSW 2018 draws to a close after delivering on promise to “Drive the global energy transformation”

Masdar and European Investment Bank Working Together to Accelerate Renewable Energy Development in ME
Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, today announced plans to collaborate with the European Investment Bank (EIB) – the financial arm of the European Union – to accelerate the development of clean energy projects in parts of the Middle East and North Africa. Masdar Signs MOU with JBIC to Accelerate Renewable Energy Technologies
Masdar today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) that will see the two parties work together in identifying, financing and executing renewable energy projects around the world. The agreement was signed by H.E Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and CEO of Masdar, and JBIC Governor, CEO, Hiroshi Watanabe. The signing took place in the presence of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.

Masdar unveils locally manufactured all-electric Eco-Bus at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2018
A template for future sustainable public transport solutions, the working prototype was jointly developed by Masdar and Abu Dhabi-based Hafilat Industry in collaboration with the Masdar Institute, part of Khalifa University of Science and Technology. Technology partner Siemens provided the bus’s engine giving the vehicle a range of 150 kilometres per charge while minimising the size and weight of its battery.
