Launched in 2008, Earth Hour has become the largest grassroots movement for the environment, celebrated in more than 180 countries and across 7,000 cities to promote energy conservation. World Energy Day was celebrated for the first time three years ago, after being called by the World Energy Forum. The UAE led the signing ceremony at the time of the International Declaration for the World Energy Day, along with several other heads of states and governments participating at the 2012 World Energy Forum held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Masdar, ADFD and PUC partner to build solar power plant with battery storage in Seychelles
Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, will help the Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) in building a five-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant with battery storage in the Republic of Seychelles The project is being financed by a AED31 million loan from Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), the leading national entity for development aid, as well as funds from PUC’s own equity.

Masdar to Deliver 12MW of Solar Power in Mauritania
Masdar today signed a contract with Mauritania’s Ministry of Petroleum, Energy, and Mines, to deliver seven solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, with a total capacity of 12 megawatts, providing access to clean and reliable energy to seven towns across the country. Completion of all the projects is expected by the first quarter of 2016.

Red Sea Global announces Amaala Multi-utilities Concession Agreement
