The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) signed four agreements with leading national entities to support the growth and prosperity of the private sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi
The agreements were signed as part of the Abu Dhabi Chamber’s participation as a supporting partner in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), the world’s largest event in the energy and oil sector. ADIPEC is held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre between 2-5 October, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

Miral and Emerge to Develop Solar Project on Yas Bay Waterfront
Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, has signed an agreement with Emerge, a joint venture between the UAE’s Masdar and France’s EDF, to develop a 524-kilowatt peak (kWp) solar photovoltaic (PV) project on Yas Bay Waterfront, Abu Dhabi’s vibrant day-to-night dining, entertainment and leisure destination located on Yas Island. The project is designed to offset 450 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

On behalf of the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has inaugurated the UAE Wind Program during a ceremony on Sir Bani Yas Island. The clean energy project builds on the leadership’s efforts to develop alternative energy sources, which began with the establishment of the region’s first wind power station on Sir Bani Yas Island in 2004.

Global renewable capacity expansion soars 50
Global renewable energy capacity additions reached a record level last year, exceeding expansion in 2019 by almost 50 percent, according to date from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Worldwide, more than 260 gigawatts of renewable capacity was added last, accounting for more than 80 percent of all electricity expansion, the agency’s annual Renewable Capacity Statistics 2021 report shows.
