The UAE Inaugurates Three Micro Grid Solar Plants in Fiji
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s minister of foreign affairs, today inaugurated a solar photovoltaic micro grid project that brings clean energy to some of Fiji’s outer islands. Constructed by Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, the clean energy project is the third financed by the United Arab Emirates’ US$50 million Pacific Partnership Fund, through the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD). The Fiji project was financed with US$5 million from the UAE-Pacific Partnership Fund.

Nine Heads of State to Attend Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2016
Abu Dhabi, UAE, 13 January 2016 – His Excellency Enrique Peña Nieto, President of Mexico, will deliver the keynote address to global sustainability leaders convening at the January 18 Opening Ceremony of the upcoming Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW). Jordan’s King Abdullah II Inaugurates First Utility-Scale Wind Farm in the Middle East
Tafila, Jordan, 17 December, 2015 – His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan inaugurated today the first utility-scale wind power project in the Middle East with high-level officials from across the Middle East in attendance, including HRH Prince Talal bin Muhammad; HE Dr Abdullah Ensour, the Prime Minister of Jordan; HE Dr Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State and Chairman of Masdar; HE Dr Ibrahim Saif, Jordan Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources; HE Bilal Rabie Bilal Al Bodour, UAE Ambassador to Jordan; and Dr Ahmad Belhoul, CEO of Masdar. Built by the Jordan Wind Project Company (JWPC), the wind farm is a joint project of Masdar, InfraMed and EP Global Energy.
