Pioneering Energy Worldwide

Uzbekistan is a key strategic market for Masdar and we are working together to deliver renewable energy projects that power homes and business while cutting emissions. Masdar is proud to support Uzbekistan’s renewable energy goals of reaching at least 25GW of renewable energy capacity and generating 54 percent of power from renewables by 2030.

In April 2023, Masdar signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and Government Support Agreement (GSA) with the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan to design, finance, build and operate the Nur Bukhara 250MW solar and 63MW/126MWh battery storage project.

In November 2019, Masdar signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and Government Support Agreement (GSA) with the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan to design, finance, build and operate the country’s first public-private partnership (PPP) solar power plant.

In July 2021, Masdar signed an agreement with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan to design, finance, build and operate a 220 megawatt (MW) utility-scale solar PV project in the Samarkand Region.
