His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, visited the Masdar-built Sheikh Zayed Solar Power Plant in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania’s capital city, Nouakchott, while on a state visit to the country on 21 October 2015. United Arab Emirates Now Ranks Third Among World Nations in Total Concentrated Solar Power Capacity
Abu Dhabi, UAE – 04 June, 2014: Masdar’s Shams I concentrated solar power (CSP) plant in Abu Dhabi catapulted the United Arab Emirates to its new ranking as thirdamong the world’s nations in both 2013 CSP technology investment and total CSP capacity.The UAE now ranks only behind Spain and the United States in total CSPgeneration; India and China round out the world’s top five.

The Climate Innovation Exchange (CLIX), an Abu Dhabi-based global marketplace that connects capital with new innovative concepts, has been officially announced to forge partnerships between entrepreneurs and investors. UAE puts energy-water-food-climate nexus on UN agenda at ongoing climate negotiations
The United Arab Emirates today hosts COP18’s central discussion of the energy-water-food-climate nexus, in cooperation with New York University. The panel, “It Never Rains in the GCC,” had identified priority government interventions in the market to manage the nexus as its global significance intensities. Held as part of the UNFCCC climate change negotiations in Doha and moderated by Chatham House, the panel brings together experts from the OECD, World Economic Forum, Global Water Partnership, Qatar Foundation, Environment Agency Abu Dhabi, New York University, and UN Food and Agriculture Organization.

Masdar signs landmark Power Purchase Agreement for 150MW Quipungo Solar PV project in Angola
