Masdar announced today that it maintained a positive trajectory over the course of 2020. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, through the year Masdar expanded its global footprint, increased the generation capacity of its portfolio, and added new tenants for Masdar City.

Masdar goes dark for Earth Hour 2021

Masdar, a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable urban development, will join thousands of organizations around the world by switching off its lights today, Saturday, March 27, to mark Earth Hour 2021. The global initiative will see entire streets, buildings, landmarks, and city skylines, go dark across the world to call attention to climate change and nature loss.

Fire at Masdar Offices Under Control

A fire started at approximately 1:30 am at the temporary Masdar offices on the outskirts of Masdar City. Masdar City and its buildings were not affected by the fire, and no one was injured. The fire caused damage to Block 1 and 2, a section of Masdar’s temporary offices. Abu Dhabi Civil Defence brought the fire under control and is looking into the cause.
