Masdar and National Petroleum Construction Company agree to explore renewable energy opportunities

Masdar agrees to develop 4 GW of clean energy projects in Azerbaijan
Masdar, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, has signed implementation agreements with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to develop clean and renewable energy projects in the country with a combined confirmed capacity of 4,000 megawatts (MW) as an exclusive concession, with the right to develop an additional 6,000 MW as a second phase, bringing the total production capacity of these projects to 10,000 MW – the largest such signing in Azerbaijan’s history.

Y4S Leader travels to Antarctica on climate mission
Athra Khamis, a Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S) Future Sustainability Leader, has swapped the desert environment of the UAE for a very different kind of desert: Antarctica. Masdar City has been named “Best Free Zone for Start Up Support” by the Financial Times and has collected three other prestigious global awards. Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), Masdar and Khalifa University of Science and Technology
Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, Masdar, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), a Saudi Government Corporation responsible for power generation and supplying various regions in the Kingdom with desalinated water, and the Abu Dhabi-based Khalifa University of Science and Technology, represented by Masdar Institute, to accelerate the development and commercialization of sustainable desalination technologies needed to enhance regional water security. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the International Water Summit, a key event of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2018, the region’s largest gathering on sustainability.
