Global business and policy leaders gather for official opening of ADSW 2017
Global leaders in government and business will gather for the official opening of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in the UAE capital tomorrow. Taking place on the theme “Practical steps towards a sustainable future”, this year’s ADSW is expected to receive 38,000 attendees representing 175 countries, including five heads of state, more than 80 government ministers, and 880 exhibiting companies from 40 countries.

Cepsa and Masdar join forces to expand their renewables businesses internationally
Cepsa, a global energy company with more than 85 years’ experience, and Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, an international leader in renewables and sustainable urban development, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore renewable energy project collaboration, especially wind and solar. World’s first commercial-scale floating offshore wind farm on its way to Scotland
The first of five turbines for the Hywind Scotland commercial-scale floating offshore wind farm has now sailed away (date 17/07/2017) from Stord in Norway to its final destination, Buchan Deep, 25 km east of Peterhead in Scotland. Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, announced that it had acquired a 25% stake in the Hywind Scotland project during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in January.

IRENA Global Headquarters Building at Masdar City is Completed
Masdar today announced the completion of the IRENA Global Headquarters complex, which is almost fully leased and will be the permanent home of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), as well as other commercial tenants. Located in Masdar City – Abu Dhabi’s low-carbon, sustainable urban development – IRENA will officially move in by the end of the first quarter 2015.

Masdar and China Vanke Co. Ltd. Sign Memorandum of Understanding
