Masdar to Build the First Large-Scale Wind Farm in the GCC

Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, today signed a joint development agreement with the Rural Areas Electricity Company (RAECO) to build the first large-scale wind farm in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The $125 million, 50-megawatt wind farm in the Sultanate of Oman will be constructed in the country’s Dhofar Governorate.

Masdar Begins Delivery of Four New UAE Funded Solar Projects in Pacific Island Countries

Masdar today announced the construction kick-off for four new solar-power projects in the Pacific island countries of Kiribati, Fiji, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. Financed under the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development’s US$50 million UAE-Pacific Partnership Fund, the solar projects will collectively deliver 1.8 megawatts of clean energy and contribute to fuel savings worth US$2 million per year. Completion of the projects is expected by the second half of 2015.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed Visits Masdar City

His Excellency Dr Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, visited Masdar City in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. Masdar Signs MOU with JBIC to Accelerate Renewable Energy Technologies

Masdar today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) that will see the two parties work together in identifying, financing and executing renewable energy projects around the world. Masdar Delivers Samoa’s First Wind Farm

The Samoan Prime Minister, the Honorable Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi, today inaugurated the country’s first wind farm. World’s first commercial-scale floating offshore wind farm on its way to Scotland

The first of five turbines for the Hywind Scotland commercial-scale floating offshore wind farm has now sailed away (date 17/07/2017) from Stord in Norway to its final destination, Buchan Deep, 25 km east of Peterhead in Scotland.
