Masdar Sends Competition Winners on Helicopter Ride over Shams 1 and Masdar City
The tour first provided a birds-eye view of the Shams 1 power project, located in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi. The 100-megawatt power plant generates enough energy to power 20,000 homes and displace 175,000 tons of CO2. The winners then flew back to Abu Dhabi and observed the progress at Masdar City, the growing, low-carbon sustainable urban development.

Today, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi officially inaugurated Shams 1, the largest concentrated solar power plant (CSP) in operation in the world. UAE Looks to Strengthen Economic Ties With China in Bilateral Talks
Major Gen Omar al Bitar Opportunities to strengthen economic ties between the United Arab Emirates and China, were the focus of talks during a two-day visit to China by UAE minister of state H.E Dr. Sultan Al Jaber. First Wind Turbine at Dhofar Installed
