Production of sustainable aviation fuel from solid waste
Masdar, ADNOC, bp, Tadweer (Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company) and Etihad Airways announced at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2023 an agreement to conduct a joint feasibility study on exploring the production in the UAE of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and other products, such as renewable diesel and naphtha, using municipal solid waste (MSW) and renewable hydrogen.

Emerge Partners with Coca-Cola Al Ahlia Beverages’ on new Solar Project

Masdar Signs Agreement with Austria’s VERBUND to Explore Green Hydrogen Production for Central Europe Market
The MoU was signed at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2023 by Michael Strugl, Chief Executive Officer, VERBUND, and Mohammad Abdelqader El Ramahi, Executive Director, Green Hydrogen, Masdar. As per the agreement, the two companies will cooperate on developing pathways to produce and export green hydrogen to Central Europe, specifically Austria and Southern Germany.

Emerge to Install Solar Project at American Community School of Abu Dhabi’s New Sustainable Campus
Emerge, a joint venture between the UAE’s Masdar and France’s EDF, has signed an agreement with American Community School of Abu Dhabi (ACS) to install a 1 megawatt peak (MWp) solar photovoltaic (PV) project at ACS’s new environmentally sustainable campus on Saadiyat Island, UAE. The project will generate approximately 35 percent of ACS’s total annual energy demand, an equivalent of displacing 770 tonnes of carbon emissions every year. The project fully aligns with the UAE sustainability goals and contributes to the country’s Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative.
