Global CCS Institute Opens First Regional Headquarters at Masdar City
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; 30th August 2022: Masdar City, the regional home of technology innovation and R&D in Abu Dhabi, has announced the opening of the Global Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Institute’s first Middle East headquarters. The opening was attended by the Institute’s global CEO, Jarad Daniels, who was visiting the region as part of a five-day tour, accompanied by the Institute’s Head of the MENA Region, Dr Mohammed Abu Zahra, and General Manager of Client Engagement, Jeff Erikson.

Masdar’s inaugural Green Finance Framework published with highest rating
Masdar has published its inaugural Green Finance Framework (GFF) with a Sustainability Quality Score of SQS1 (Excellent) – the highest rating – from Moody’s Investors Service, its Second Party Opinion provider. This independent assessment is expected to make Masdar’s planned bond offering more attractive to debt capital market investors.

Three major solar projects inaugurated in the Caribbean

Masdar-led joint venture agrees financing for largest wind farm in Serbia
Financing for one of the largest wind power projects in mainland Europe has been agreed by the project’s shareholders and lenders at a ceremony in the Serbian capital of Belgrade. Due for completion in the first half of 2019, the 158 megawatt (MW) capacity Čibuk 1 wind farm will be the largest utility-scale commercial wind project in Serbia and the Western Balkans.

Masdar Unveils 2015 Sustainability Report
Masdar has released its 2015 Sustainability Report, documenting the renewable energy company’s sustainability milestones in the period October 2014 to September 2015. Masdar developed the report using the internationally recognised sustainability reporting framework from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), in accordance with the latest GRI G4 guidelines. The report discloses a wide variety of sustainability indicators, ranging from economic and environmental data to labour practices and employment information.
