Masdar’s Youth 4 Sustainability participates in online workshops
Masdar’s Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S) initiative has completed its participation in the UAE Ministry of Education’s Game Changers Sustainability Program, a series of online workshops under the Ministry’s Estedad National Ambassadors Programme.
“We believe that with the proper tools, knowledge and support, young people can be the positive force that our world needs to flourish,” Ahmed Baghoum, Executive Director of Human Capital and Services, Masdar, said in a welcome address to 50 university students, including UAE nationals, taking part in the program.
“Programs such as the Sustainability Game Changers are a great starting point for hearing the real-life applications of how organizations here in the UAE are effectively leading the change and serving as pioneers for the region, and the rest of the world,” he said.
During the program, Masdar experts delivered presentations on topics including the future of sustainability in the UAE, clean energy, the development of Masdar City, and energy efficiency, as well as on how UAE youth can become the next generation of sustainability leaders through the Y4S initiative.
The UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change & Environment and the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, and the International Renewable Energy Agency also delivered workshops during the program.
The Y4S team also hosted three special workshops for high-school students as part of the Ministry of Education’s Environment and Sustainability Boot Camp, focused on how to build a sustainable home.
Hosted under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Y4S platform invests in and actively supports the development of the UAE’s most valuable asset – its youth – enabling them to become the sustainability leaders of tomorrow.
