Masdar’s Human Capital team has been announced as the winner of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Gov HR Award’s Best Employee Benefits and Wellbeing Strategy for its Masdar Wellness Programme.

Ahmed Baghoum, Executive Director of Human Capital & Services at Masdar, accepted the award during a ceremony that was held today at the Rixos Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi.

"Winning this prestigious award is evidence of our ongoing commitment to boost the well-being of all our employees. All employee wellness initiatives are designed to help foster positive attitudes towards a healthier and more balanced lifestyle, and improve the happiness of our employees,” said Baghoum.

“The Masdar Wellness Programme provides a holistic approach to wellness and we are constantly offering new initiatives and events that are tailored to the changing needs of our employees,” he added.

The programme was recognised for providing Masdar employees with environmental, emotional, spiritual and lifestyle wellness through fitness classes, awareness days, and regular health check-ups.

The programme also includes several other initiatives throughout the year including Masdar’s Biggest Loser, No Elevator Day, the Masdar Mini Olympics, and healthy cooking classes. Most recently, the programme ran workshops on personal finance and mindfulness.

Masdar was also shortlisted in the Most Distinctive Learning & Development Strategy category for its efforts in creating an effective talent development strategy focused on developing the capabilities of its employees.

Now in its seventh year, the GCC Gov HR Awards recognises the ground-breaking achievements of public sector organisations and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in organisational and team effectiveness through human capital management, diversity and strategic planning.
