Masdar City wins prestigious industry award

Masdar City was recognised as part of the “Building the Future—The Top Real Estate companies in the Middle East 2019 awards organised by Forbes ME, receiving the Best Sustainable Developer Award”, for our pioneering contribution to the sustainable development market. The award was accepted by Yousef Baselaib, Executive Director, Sustainable Real Estate.

The annual awards recognises the region’s biggest, most innovative, creative and successful real estate developers and consultants.

The half-day event comprised three panel discussions and the award ceremony, gathering professionals from the real estate industry to discuss the future of the industry and the viability of smart cities as a solution to the increasing cost of living and lack of affordable housing.

Stephen Severance, Head Program Management and Marketing contributed to the “How can we embrace sustainability through smart cities?” panel, discussing how the region is working towards creating a sustainable future through green initiatives such as autonomous homes, as well as the opportunities and challenges of developing smart cities and buildings.
