UAE Energy Minister Visits Masdar
“With our demand for energy rising, it’s time to seriously consider an integrated, national energy policy to balance the sources of power we rely on,” said UAE Energy Minister H.E. Masdar and UK Green Investment Bank Sign MoU
Today, Masdar and the UK Green Investment Bank plc (GIB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore project investment opportunities in the UK’s clean energy sector. Masdar Sends Competition Winners on Helicopter Ride over Shams 1 and Masdar City
The tour first provided a birds-eye view of the Shams 1 power project, located in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi. The 100-megawatt power plant generates enough energy to power 20,000 homes and displace 175,000 tons of CO2. The winners then flew back to Abu Dhabi and observed the progress at Masdar City, the growing, low-carbon sustainable urban development.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson Visits Masdar City
As part of his Masdar City tour, Johnson visited the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, a graduate level, research-oriented university focused on alternative energy and sustainability. First Wind Turbine at Dhofar Installed

ADNOC and Masdar Launch Joint Venture to Develop Commercial-Scale Carbon Capture, Usage and Storage Projects
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Masdar today signed a joint venture agreement – the Middle East’s first company focused on exploring and developing commercial-scale projects for carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS). ADNOC and Masdar jointly awarded a AED 450 million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to Dodsal Group to build a carbon dioxide (CO2) compression facility and a 50 km pipeline. The joint venture is 51 percent owned by ADNOC and 49 percent by Masdar.
