Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2018 to focus on Driving the Global Energy Transformation

Masdar unveils locally manufactured all-electric Eco-Bus at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2018
A template for future sustainable public transport solutions, the working prototype was jointly developed by Masdar and Abu Dhabi-based Hafilat Industry in collaboration with the Masdar Institute, part of Khalifa University of Science and Technology. Technology partner Siemens provided the bus’s engine giving the vehicle a range of 150 kilometres per charge while minimising the size and weight of its battery.

Zayed Future Energy Prize Convenes Experts on the Transformative Impact of Renewables Integration
TheZayed Future Energy Prize, the UAE’s international awards for renewable energy and sustainability, brought together global energy leaders and influencers to address the urgency of transforming the global energy mix to safeguard energy security, enhance energy access in rural areas and mitigate climate change. The panel, including former heads of state, intergovernmental leaders and UAE dignitaries, was held following extensive deliberations to select the 2018 winners of the Zayed Future Energy Prize. Masdar Reveals Winner of Third International Blogging Contest themed ‘Describe Your City in 2030’
Abu Dhabi, UAE: 14 January, 2015 – Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, today announced the winner of its third annual Engage Blogging Contest. The contest received 106 entries from 40 countries, all of which creatively described the ideal, sustainable city of the future. Financial Close Reached for the First Utility-Scale Wind Farm in Jordan
Jordan Wind Project Company (JWPC) today signed the financing agreement to begin construction of the Middle East’s first utility-scale wind-power project. Located in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the 117MW Tafila Wind Farm will increase the country’s total power capacity by 3%. The project will cost an estimated US$290 million.
