Masdar Completes First Project in £1 Billion UK Battery Storage Investment and Announces New Projects in Pipeline
Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, a global clean energy leader, today announced the start of commercial operations at its battery energy storage system (BESS) facility in Stockport; the first project to be completed under Masdar’s £1 billion commitment to invest in UK battery energy storage. The company will also develop two new BESS projects, in Cardiff and Chesterfield.

Innovative approach enables Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon Extension Projects to progress as a joint development
Partners have agreed to bring the two projects under a joint ownership structure in one legal entity, subject to regulatory approvals being obtained before closing. The projects are extensions to the operational Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farms, which currently power around 710,000 UK homes.
