Masdar Signs Cooperative Framework with Energias de Portugal
Masdar today signed a framework agreement with Energias De Portugal (EDP), Portugal’s largest utility company, to explore opportunities to deploy large-scale renewable energy projects and promote renewables as source of foreign aid. The agreement was signed by Jorge Cruz Morais, director-general of EDP Internacional and H.E Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, CEO of Masdar, during the seventh World Future Energy Summit, a global platform that addresses the future of renewable energy and sustainable development in the Middle East and the world.

World Champion Tokai University Solar Car Makes Test Drive at Masdar City
The Tokai University Solar Car, winner of the prestigious 2012 World Solar Challenge in Australia and other global solar car races, was on display at Masdar City today. UAE launches US$50 million renewable energy fund for the Caribbean
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) today announced a landmark new US$50 million grant fund for renewable energy projects in Caribbean island countries. Masdar and Statoil collaborate to explore potential of battery storage solution at Hywind Scotland

Masdar concludes Power Purchasing Agreement to build Jordan’s largest solar power plant

The Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) for a 200-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic (PV) plant was signed today by Mohamed Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, and Abdul Fattah Daradkeh, Chief Executive Officer of National Electric Power Company, Jordan’s state electricity provider, at a ceremony in Amman attended by His Excellency Dr Hani Al Mulqi, Prime Minister of Jordan.

IFC appointed to oversee funding of Jordan’s largest solar power project

Masdar unveils locally manufactured all-electric Eco-Bus at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2018
A template for future sustainable public transport solutions, the working prototype was jointly developed by Masdar and Abu Dhabi-based Hafilat Industry in collaboration with the Masdar Institute, part of Khalifa University of Science and Technology. Technology partner Siemens provided the bus’s engine giving the vehicle a range of 150 kilometres per charge while minimising the size and weight of its battery.
