UAE-founded ekar has announced a strategic partnership with Masdar, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, to bring electric vehicle car-sharing to the Middle East by introducing five Tesla models S and X into its fleet. Solar Impulse 2 arrives in Egypt before homeward journey to Abu Dhabi
Solar Impulse 2 (Si2), the solar-powered plane attempting to become the first aircraft in the world to circumnavigate the globe without using a drop of fossil fuel, took another step towards its epic goal when it touched down in Egypt at 7:10 Egypt time today. The plane was received at Cairo International Airport by Egypt Minister of Civil Aviation H.E. Sherif Fathy and UAE Ambassador to Egypt H.E. Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi.

Construction Begins on Masdar and International Renewable Energy Agency Headquarters Complex
Masdar today announced the awarding of the design and construction contract for its new headquarters complex, which will also house the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The headquarters will be one of the most advanced, sustainable multi-use complexes in the United Arab Emirates. It will be the cornerstone of Masdar City – the special economic zone, clean-technology cluster and low-carbon city in Abu Dhabi. Completion is set for summer of 2014.
