  • Global renewable capacity expansion soars 50

    Global renewable energy capacity additions reached a record level last year, exceeding expansion in 2019 by almost 50 percent, according to date from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Worldwide, more than 260 gigawatts of renewable capacity was added last, accounting for more than 80 percent of all electricity expansion, the agency’s annual Renewable Capacity Statistics 2021 report shows.

  • Miral and Emerge to Develop Solar Project on Yas Bay Waterfront

    Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, has signed an agreement with Emerge, a joint venture between the UAE’s Masdar and France’s EDF, to develop a 524-kilowatt peak (kWp) solar photovoltaic (PV) project on Yas Bay Waterfront, Abu Dhabi’s vibrant day-to-night dining, entertainment and leisure destination located on Yas Island. The project is designed to offset 450 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
