Masdar Launches Shams 1, the World’s Largest Concentrated Solar Power Plant in Operation
Today, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi officially inaugurated Shams 1, the largest concentrated solar power plant (CSP) in operation in the world. Located in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi, the 100-megawatt, grid connected power plant will generate clean energy to power 20,000 homes in the UAE.

UAE Looks to Strengthen Economic Ties With China in Bilateral Talks
Major Gen Omar al Bitar Opportunities to strengthen economic ties between the United Arab Emirates and China, were the focus of talks during a two-day visit to China by UAE minister of state H.E Dr. Sultan Al Jaber. The visit is expected to lay the ground work for increased economic activity between the UAE and China which is growing at more than 14 per cent annually. Finalists announced for 2018 Zayed Future Energy Prize
International experts from the fields of energy, sustainability and education chose a shortlist of 34 finalists for the 2018 Zayed Future Energy Prize on Sunday and Monday during the third of a rigorous four-stage evaluation process. Built by the Jordan Wind Project Company (JWPC), the wind farm is a joint project of Masdar, InfraMed and EP Global Energy.
