Masdar signs agreement to develop Georgia’s largest utility-scale solar power plant
Masdar, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, has signed an agreement with the Georgian Energy Development Fund (GEDF) to develop a solar photovoltaic (PV) power project in the country, with a capacity of as much as 100 megawatts (MW). Solar Impulse 2, the revolutionary solar-powered aircraft able to fly day and night without a drop of fuel, arrived in Honolulu, Hawaii on Friday at 19:57 UAE time after crossing the Pacific Ocean. UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund announces major projects in five countries
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) today announced the first five projects under the US$50 million UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund (the Fund) across Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The projects will significantly reduce energy costs in the region, as well as improve resilience to natural disasters such as Hurricane Irma.

Financial Close Reached for the First Utility-Scale Wind Farm in Jordan
Jordan Wind Project Company (JWPC) today signed the financing agreement to begin construction of the Middle East’s first utility-scale wind-power project. Located in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the 117MW Tafila Wind Farm will increase the country’s total power capacity by 3%. The project will cost an estimated US$290 million.
