Generation Z wants more action for a sustainable future
Climate change will be the world’s biggest challenge over the next decade, according to a global survey of young people carried out by Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company. Unveiled at COP22, the United Nations Climate Change Conference taking place in Morocco, the ‘Masdar Gen Z Global Sustainability Survey’ is the first global survey of the attitudes of young people aged 18-25 – the demographic cohort known as ‘Generation Z’ – towards climate change, sustainable development and renewable energy.

Phase 3 of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park Breaks Ground
Construction of the 800 megawatt (MW) phase 3 of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai will start at the end of this month following the award of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the project. Zayed Future Energy Prize Convenes Experts on the Transformative Impact of Renewables Integration
TheZayed Future Energy Prize, the UAE’s international awards for renewable energy and sustainability, brought together global energy leaders and influencers to address the urgency of transforming the global energy mix to safeguard energy security, enhance energy access in rural areas and mitigate climate change. How sustainable technology will help Sharjah turn waste into energy

Masdar, EDF Renewables and Nesma Renewable Energy Win Bid for 1,100MW Solar IPP Project in Saudi Arabia
Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, EDF Renewables and Nesma Company have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) to develop the 1,100 MW Al Henakiyah solar power plant. Once operational, it is expected that the project will power more than 190 thousand homes per year and displace more than 1.8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
