Global business and policy leaders gather for official opening of ADSW 2017

Masdar takes 25% stake in world’s first floating offshore wind farm

Masdar and Statoil collaborate to explore potential of battery storage solution at Hywind Scotland
Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, has announced the signing of a collaborative agreement with Norwegian multinational oil and gas company Statoil to analyse data from “Batwind” – the integrated energy storage system designed to store energy generated by Hywind Scotland, the first commercial-scale floating wind farm that was inaugurated by the two companies last October – and explore the battery’s potential for further applications and business opportunities.

Hundreds of runners to participate in Masdar City sponsored Environmental Marathon
Abu Dhabi’s sustainable urban community Masdar City will host an estimated 300 runners this Friday for the “Environmental Marathon” organised by Environment Friends Society. Open to men, women, children and people of determination, the 3km road race is free to enter and perfect preparation for the Special Olympics XI MENA taking place in the UAE later this month. How sustainable technology will help Sharjah turn waste into energy
