Zayed Future Energy Prize Convenes Experts on the Transformative Impact of Renewables Integration
TheZayed Future Energy Prize, the UAE’s international awards for renewable energy and sustainability, brought together global energy leaders and influencers to address the urgency of transforming the global energy mix to safeguard energy security, enhance energy access in rural areas and mitigate climate change. The panel, including former heads of state, intergovernmental leaders and UAE dignitaries, was held following extensive deliberations to select the 2018 winners of the Zayed Future Energy Prize. Masdar, EDF Renewables and Nesma Renewable Energy Win Bid for 1,100MW Solar IPP Project in Saudi Arabia
Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, EDF Renewables and Nesma Company have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) to develop the 1,100 MW Al Henakiyah solar power plant. Once operational, it is expected that the project will power more than 190 thousand homes per year and displace more than 1.8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.

UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund announces major projects in five countries

UAE-PPF training programme boosts renewable energy development capacity
The third session of the Pacific Renewable Energy Integration training programme, hosted by the United Arab Emirates, successfully concluded today in Auckland, New Zealand. The programme focuses on development and financing of solar, wind, and other renewable energy projects and is managed by Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD). The programme is funded through the US$50 million UAE-Pacific Partnership Fund (UAE-PPF) which has executed renewable energy projects in 11 Pacific Island countries.
