Overview

Baltic Eagle is the inaugural joint venture project between Masdar and Iberdrola. It's Masdar's first project in Germany and resulted in our largest ever euro-denominated financing.

The project, located near Rügen Island in the Baltic Sea, has a capacity of 476MW and aims to supply approximately 475,000 households with renewable energy while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 800,000 tons per year.

In July 2025, Masdar and Iberdrola celebrated the completion and full energization of the project, followed by the installation of the final 50 turbines in October 2025.

The project is part of Masdar and Iberdrola's €15bn alliance to scale offshore wind and green hydrogen across the UK, Germany and the US.
