Mark Sandy

As Chief Legal Officer of Masdar, Mark Sandy brings over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, with extensive experience of advising on renewable and conventional power projects around the world.
Before joining Masdar, Mark held senior legal roles in major international power companies, including companies listed on the London, New York, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi stock exchanges, where he built and managed legal and compliance teams to advise on power generation and related activities, including project development, construction, operation, governance and M&A.
In his most recent role, Mark served as General Counsel for the Generation business of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA).
Before moving into leadership roles in the energy sector, Mark practiced as a solicitor with international law firms in London and Hong Kong, acting primarily on project finance and corporate transactions.
