Anton J. Steiger
Chief Legal Officer, Masdar
Anton J. Steiger is Chief Legal Officer at Masdar. He joined Masdar in October 2026 and is responsible for the company’s global legal and compliance functions. He also serves as Secretary to Masdar’s Board of Directors and its committees. Prior to joining Masdar, he was General Counsel at ALAT Technologies, a Public Investment Fund company based in Saudi Arabia.
Mr Steiger has more than 25 years of international experience advising executive management and boards on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory matters and compliance. He previously served as Group General Counsel of Siemens Energy, where he led global legal and compliance teams and earlier, as General Counsel for Corporate and M&A at Siemens AG.
He advised on major international transactions, including the spin-off of OSRAM, the initial public offering of Siemens Healthineers and the merger of Siemens’ wind business with Gamesa. He has also served as a board member of Siemens Gamsa and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Mobility.
Mr Steiger holds an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen and studied law at the University of Vienna and Penn State University’s Dickinson School of Law.
